In 1996 opened a new TV classroom
that I designed at Ohio University. The design came about from:
1) talking with faculty about their needs in a distance education
classroom,
2) identifying problems with the existing TV classrooms, and
3) drawing upon experience designing TV classrooms at other
universities.
The
basic goal was to provide a flexible teaching environment that
delivered a broadcast-quality signal. In addition, it needed to be
flexible enough to be used as a technology-enhanced (non-distance)
classroom.
